Notes:

The Belfast - Morecombe service opened in 1851 and was first worked by chartered steamers. These vessels were soon joined by the Fenella, a steamer which belonged to the North Lancashire SN Co. and which generally worked between Fleetwood and Ardrossan. This route was extended to Londonderry, but received little support.

In 1852 the Fenella was advertised to complete only one round trip each week between Londonderry and Morecombe with calls at Belfast on the outward and homeward journeys.
